How many levels of water operations are there
Level 1-3
What is level 1 water rescue
Working within 3 mtrs of an unprotected water edge.
Enter water that does not come over the top of their boots.
Slow enough that they cannot be swept off their feet .
What is level 2 water rescue
Operations where firefighters are committed to the water to effect a rescue beyond the limitations of level 1
Can only be carried out by trained FRU SRT
What is level 3 water rescue
Operations that involve the deployment of Flood Response Kits where firefighters may be required to work under the guidance of FRU SRT on or near water

Number of people involved Where casualty was last seen Was casualty wearing a life jacket. What clothes was the casualty wearing Info on hazards effecting crews entering the water .
What is the minimum PPE for entering the water to effect a rescue
Full fire kit
PFD
Fire helmet removed unless danger of head injury then chin strap unfastened
