Name the 6 terms of the water cycle
Condensation 💨💧 Run-Off💧➡️ Evaporation 💧💨 Percolation 💧⬇️ 🏝 CREPPT Precipitation 🌧🌨 Transpiration🌳💧⬆️
What is condensation?
When a gas is cooled and turns into a liquid
💨➡️💧
What is transpiration?
Transpiration is when water from the soil goes through a tree and transpires off the leaves into the clouds.
🌳💧⬆️
What is run-off?
Run-off is rain that doesn’t percolate into the soil and flows into rivers and oceans.
💧➡️🏜
What is evaporation in the water cycle?
Evaporation is when water from puddles, streams, oceans and lakes is heated by the sun and turns into air.
🌊⬆️☀️
What is sublimation?
Sublimation is when a solid turns into a gas.
❄️➡️💨
What is deposition?
Deposition is when water vapour turns to ice. Gas to solid.
💨➡️❄️
What is melting?
Melting is when a solid gets heat energy that turns it into a liquid.
❄️➡️💧
What is freezing?
Freezing is when a liquid turns to a solid.
💧➡️❄️
How are the particles joined in a liquid?
They are loosely bonded.
How are the particles in a solid bonded?
They are strongly bonded.
How are the particles bonded in a gas?
They aren’t bonded at all.
