Define Evaporation
The change of water into water vapor which goes into the atmosphere.
Define Transpiration
Transpiration is water vapor released from plants in the atmosphere.
Define Condensation
Condensation is water vapor turning back to water as it cools to form clouds.
Define Precipitation
Precipitation is Water falling from the sky.
Define Surface Runoff
Surface Runoff is water flowing on the surface of the land where it is impermeable.
Define Infiltration
Infiltration is the Downward entry of water into soil and rock.
Define Percolation
Percolation is the flow off of water through soil and rock.
Define Throughflow
Throughflow is when water flows within the soil diagonally as it moves downhill.
Define Ground Water Flow
Ground Water Flow is water moving through rock towards the ocean.
