Q

how does the water cycle work

A

the sun heats up the ocean and the water from the ocean is evaporated , to water vapour. because gas is lighter than liquid, the water vapour rises. condensation occurs when water vapour is turned back into water droplets as it cools down and clouds are formed.
precipitation occurs when water droplets get bigger and heavier, they begin to fall as rain, snow, sleet etc. once precipitation occurs and rain falls out the clouds, some falls directly into the sea. some of the precipitation falls onto the land and surface run off takes place. However, some water gets intercepted by trees or vegetation and gets absorbed into the soil and turns into ground water, lastly, precipitation will eventually return to the air as water vapour through the process of transpiration.
