Q

What is a steep catchment? (4)

A
  1. Rapid runoff
  2. Rapid groundwater flow
  3. Very little water retained in the catchment so groundwater recharge is minimal

Q

What is flat catchment? (4)

A
  1. Slow runoff
  2. Slow groundwater flow

Q

What are the 3 steps of water catchment?

A
  1. The outside edge of a catchment is always the highest
    point.
  2. Gravity causes all rain and runoff in the catchment to run downhill where it naturally collects in creeks, rivers, lakes or oceans.
