Water And Carbon Cycle Links Flashcards
1
Q
How do the cycles link?
A
- carbon absorbed in rainwater has an influence on acidity. Acidity of water effects the rate of weathering. Dissolved carbon is carried by rivers to oceans.
- changes in CO2 concentrations in atmosphere is one of the main factors causing climate change. The climate has a significant impact on the water cycle, especially rates of evaporation and precipitation.
- water vapour as well as CO2 influence the greenhouse effect.
- burning rainforest would not only release carbon into the atmosphere but would also disrupt the natural cycle of water.
