David Lett of The Eyrie Vineyards. First to cultivate both Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris in Oregon.
Former engineer and ride designer for Disneyland. Developed his own machinery to harvest Pinot Noir grapes. In 1985 he was hailed as one of the best winemakers in the world.
Dick Ponizi of Ponzi Wines (established 1970 in Chehalem Willamette Valley). One of his daughters is currently the winemaker and the other heads marketing.
Owns Cayuse Vineyards in Walla Walla
Christophe Baron. Planted his first vineyard in 1997. Said to have discovered Walla Walla wine region. His Bionic Frog Syrah scored 99 pts in the Wine Advocate 5 years in a row..
Found his love of wine while a rock band manager in Europe. Taught himself to make wine. Created and eventually sold Kung Fu Girl.
Charles Smith of K Vintners. Winemaker of the Year in 2009 by Food and Wine Magazine. In 2014, winemaker of the Year by wine Enthusiast. Based in Walla Walla.
