Full back pressure

Downwind - 2300 RPM & 100 kts
Abeam - 1700 RPM, 10 flaps & pitch for 90 kts
Base - 25 flaps & pitch for 80 kts
Final - 40 flaps & pitch for 70 kts
Flare with gradual back pressure - main gear first

Final 40 flaps and 57 kts (1.3 Vso)
Flare while simultaneously reducing power
Touchdown just beyond aiming point

Decelerate in ground effect
Nose high at touchdown - stall horn should sound
Gently reduce back pressure to avoid nose wheel damage

@ Vfe smoothly extend flaps until 40 degrees
@ 65 kts descend with throttle at idle and raise nose
Maintain coordinated flight with rudder
Calls: horn, mushy controls, buffet, stall
Power off stall
Recovery
Lower nose to horizon - immediately
Apply full power - immediately
Flaps to 25 - immediately
@ positive rate, flaps to 10
@ Vy flaps to 0 (Gently to avoid damage)
@ 100 kts throttle to cruise 2300 - 2400 RPM
Power on stall

Appropriate altitude
Visual checkpoint and heading bug
Throttle to 1700 RPM
Maintain altitude with pitch
@ Vr (~65 kts) apply back pressure and full throttle
RUDDER to maintain coordinated flight
Calls: horn, mushy controls, buffet, stall
Power on stall
Recovery
Lower nose to horizon
Full power (if not already applied)
Level the wings with rudder pressure only
Climb to original altitude
At 100 kts and original altitude, reduce power to cruise
Forward slip to a landing
Downwind, base, and final speeds and flaps are the same
On final reduce power to idle and maintain 70 kts
Apply ailerons into the wind, and full opposite rudder
Rudder remains constant while ailerons maintain centerline
Pitch for airspeed
Flare with rudder and ailerons neutral
Go around + side step
Full power and flaps to 25 immediately @ positive rate: side step when clear of obstacles and flaps to 10 Pitch for Vy Pilot should have a good view of runway @Vy retract flaps and climb out
High airspeed banked descent
Recovery
Throttle to idle
Level wings
Raise nose to horizon
At green arc, begin climb at appropriate power setting to entry altitude
At altitude, and 100 kts, pitch power to cruise and trim
Low airspeed banked climb
Recovery
Lower nose
Full throttle
At entry altitude accelerate to 100 kts and set cruise power
Emergency descent - with flaps
Pre landing checklist Clearing turns Emergency field within one mile Throttle to idle @ Vfe extends flaps to 40 Pitch down for constant descent at Vfe Gently bank left and right to clear area
Emergency descent - no flaps
Pre-Landing checklist Clearing turns Emergency field greater than one mile Throttle to idle Pitch down for Vno (160 kts or upper limit of green arc)
Electrical fire
Battery and alternator switches OFF Open cabin vents Cabin heat and defrost OFF Identify source Turn off all radio and light switches
CHECK FOR SMOKE IN FOLLOWING Alternator Battery Strobes Each radio
Isolate source and land ASAP
Engine fire
Fuel selector OFF Throttle CLOSED Mixture IDLE CUT OFF Electric fuel pump OFF Cabin heat and defrost OFF Power - off landing procedure Emergency descent if required
Engine failure above 1000’
A-Airspeed best glide at 73 kts
B-Best place to land and turn to it (consider wind)
C-Cockpit
RESTART Carb heat on Mixture rich Fuel pump on Check gauges Change fuel tanks Turn key if prop has stopped
UNABLE TO RESTART

COMMUNICATE 121.5 or current channel Location Altitude Number of souls onboard Amount of fuel onboard
