Warning Systems Flashcards
What causes a Master Fire Warning?
High temp in fire loop system
What causes a Master Caution?
Two MASTER CAUTION lights illuminate when any caution occurs outside the
normal field of vision of the flight crew
Why do we reset the Master Caution?
Resets the master caution
system for further cautions.
What happens when we push a Master Fire Warning?
Pushing either master FIRE WARN light or fire warning bell cutout switch extinguishes both lights, silences the fire warning bell and resets the system for future warnings.
When a Crew Alert is illuminated, how long does it blink for?
10 seconds
What cabin altitude triggers the Cabin Altitude light to illuminate?
10000’
What pilot response is required for red/amber light?
Immediate/ timely
What are we doing when we press the annunciator panel?
Pushing either annunciator light panel recalls all existing fault annunciations.
What conditions would give a TO CONFIG Warning?
-trailing edge flaps are not in the flaps 1 through 25 takeoff range.
• trailing edge flaps are in a skew or asymmetry condition, or have uncommanded motion.
• leading edge devices are not configured for takeoff or have uncommanded motion.
• speed brake lever is not in the DOWN position.
• spoiler control valve is open providing pressurized hydraulic fluid to the ground spoiler interlock valve.
• parking brake is set.
• stabilizer trim not set in the takeoff range.
Can the landing gear horn be silenced with gear not down and flaps > 25?
NO
Would you get a Speed Brake Warning if conducting an RTO at 70kts and the speed
brakes weren’t deployed?
Auto Speed break system deploys when in landing or RTO
• main landing gear wheels spin up (more than 60 kts)
• both thrust levers are retarded to IDLE
• reverse thrust levers are positioned for reverse thrust.
What altitude do windshear alerts become active?
Alerts Enabled below 1,500 feet RA (predictive 1,200)
For malfunctions that trigger the MAINT light, at what point would the pilot be alerted?
Inhibited after engine start switch is placed to GRD during the first engine start
• for 30 seconds after landing.
