Warning Systems Flashcards
Landing Gear Warning Cutout Switch - when it will silence the warning?
Silences landing gear configuration warning aural indication only at flaps up through 10 and above 200 feet RA.
(FCOM 15.10.6)
Terrain Display color coding.
Dotted red:
Terrain more than 2,000 feet above airplane’s current altitude; Dotted amber:
Terrain 500 feet (250 feet with gear down) below to 2,000 feet above the airplane’s current altitude;
Dotted green:
Terrain from 2,000 feet below to 500 feet (250 feet with gear down) below the airplane’s current altitude;
Black: No significant terrain.
(FCOM 15.10.11)
Conditions for Takeoff configuration warning.
Airplane on the ground, one of the thrust lever is advanced for takeoff and any of the following conditions exist:
1. Trailing edge flaps are not in the flaps 1 through 25 takeoff range;
2. Trailing edge flaps are in a skew or asymmetry condition, or have uncommanded motion;
3. Leading edge devices are not configured for takeoff or have uncommanded motion;
4. Speed brake lever is not in the DOWN position;
5. Spoiler control valve is open providing pressurized hydraulic fluid to the ground spoiler interlock valve;
6. Parking brake is set;
7. Stabilizer trim not set in the takeoff range.
(FCOM 15.20.5)
Landing Gear Configuration Warnings.
Any gear is not down and locked, and -
Flaps up through 10 –
altitude below 800 feet RA, when either forward thrust lever angle is less than specified value. The landing gear warning horn can be silenced (reset) with the landing gear warning HORN CUTOUT switch. Below 200 feet RA the warning cannot be silenced.
Flaps 15 through 25 -
Either forward thrust lever set below specified value. The warning cannot be silenced.
Flaps greater than 25 –
Regardless of forward thrust lever position. warning cannot be silenced.
(FCOM 15.20.6)
PSEU - what is it? When the light is disabled?
The PSEU monitors the following systems: 1. Takeoff configuration warnings; 2. Landing configurations warnings; 3. Landing gear; 4. Air/ground sensing. The light is inhibited from takeoff until 30 sec. after landing. (FCOM 15.20.6)
Look Ahead Terrain Alerts - conditions for CAUTION TERRAIN and TERRAIN TERRAIN PULL UP.
CAUTION TERRAIN - 40-60 sec. from projected impact. Amber TERRAIN on NDs.
TERRAIN TERRAIN PULL UP - 20 to 30 seconds from projected impact. Red PULL UP on PFDs.
(FCOM 15.20.13)
Conditions for Windshear Warning (Airplane in Windshear).
Enabled below 1,500 feet RA.
GPWS Windshear detection begins at rotation.
(FCOM 15.20.16)
Conditions WINDSHEAR AHEAD warning.
Enabled during takeoff, below 1,200 feet RA.
Inhibited during takeoff and landing between 100 knots and 50 feet RA.
(FCOM 15.20.17)
Conditions for GO AROUND, WINDSHEAR AHEAD warning.
Windshear within 1.5 miles and directly ahead of the airplane detected by the weather radar.
Enabled during approach, below 1,200 feet RA.
Inhibited during takeoff and landing between 100 knots and 50 feet RA.
(FCOM 15.20.17)
Conditions for MONITOR RADAR DISPLAY caution.
Windshear within 3 miles and ahead of the airplane detected by the weather radar.
Enabled during takeoff and approach, below 1,200 feet RA.
Inhibited between 80 knots and 400 feet RA.
(FCOM 15.20.19)
Conditions for Airspeed Low Alert.
The aural annunciates when the current airspeed decreases into the minimum maneuver speed amber bar.
The aural coincides with the low airspeed alert on the airspeed indication.
(FCON 15.20.20)
Below which altitude the TCAS RA is inhibited?
Below approximately 1000’ RA.
