Concerning a newborn with hydrocephalus. (Discussed with Dr Naana)
We suspected raised ICP bcos of fast breathing and altered alertness.
- Look out for Torches, limbs, back
- Stop seizures
- Check electrolytes
- TRANSCRANIAL USG
- Manittol and lasix for pressure
- No need to rush and refer because must be stabilised. Moreover neuro will not immediately do surgery

A Child with suspected Cushing Syndrome. First initial labs
24 hr Urinary Cortisol, at least 3 different times but mostly only one done.
Iv Fluid Therapy in. Intissusception
For cases like this and fluid required conditions, use infusion pump.
Still do maintainance even when giving
Concerning a Child With SAM being managed for shock
-We stopped orals
-Corrected severe hypokalemia of 1.7
-Balanced the volumes to add
- Don’t forget to check vessel volumes
