“they do not care”

A

Because the poem ends with this, it is ambigious and may refer to the readers not being effected or the whole world and humans not caring about others’ suffering.

Q

“Sunday’s supplement”

A

The sibilant and plosive sounds make the reader almost spit the words out. This may hint at his frustration that the photos aren’t considered important enough to feature in the main newspaper.

Q

“A hundred agonies in black and white”

A

An emotive metaphor to describe his photos. Adjective ‘hundreds’ stresses the severe amount of pain shared in war as well as ‘agonies’ which again shows terrible pain. Solidifies the suffering in the photos.
