METAPHOR
Repition of r emphasises how many rows of gruesome pictures there are
‘Ordered rows’ may be his way of getting order into his life due to chaotic job
‘Ordered rows’ also creates an image of the lines of graves of soldiers as the photos r of dead people
SILIBANCE creates negative atmosphere

Work is so time consuming the red light of development room is only one he sees
Red may also symbolise danger

Couldn’t communicate with wife due to langue barrier or due to not being able to find words due to emotion she would’ve been experiencing
Refers back to image of priest had to attend his final moments
