Only targeting things that are related to the war e,g; not civilians

You need to be able to control your army and make sure your troops follow all the laws of war e,g; 10 rules of engagement and the Geneva Convention
Reasonable chance of success
Only go to war if the intention of the war is achievable
Proportionality
The damage caused by going to war should not outweigh the damage caused by not going to war
Holy war
A struggle or inner battle (Jihad) a religious duty imposed on Muslims
Crusades
A series of wars sanctioned by the Latin churches (1095-1291)
Pacifism
The belief that all war and violence is wrong and that its never necessary
They refuse to fight
Pacifist
A pacifist is a single person who believes in pacifism
Conscientious objectors
An individual who has claimed the right to not participate in any military service
