Territorial War
A territorial war occurs when two or more ruling authorities claim ownership of a territory and attempt to uphold their claim with violence.
A territory is an area of land enclosed with a physical or notional border controlled by some kind of authority usuallly a goverment.

How do territorial wars raise moral issues
- Right intention - self defence, theft, acuring resources

An ideology is a system of ideas about the economy, polices, nation, religions that influences and affects the ways people live their lives and shape their identities.

Ideology - Nationalism
Nationalism is an ideology where you want your own nation to prosper and others to weaken.
Nationalist’s want to assume independence authority over a given territory.
A group may feel like they lack political representation and that the only way to achieve independence is through war
Poltiical Ideology
Differences between Poltical ideologies have led to war on numerous occasions as well usually these involve disagreement over the best form of goverment or the most legitimate form of authority.
Religious responses of jews of causes to war
Jews believe that god commands them to respect the environment above all human affairs, even war which is why we should try to solve things with our enemys and try to avoid war at all costs.

Death and injury - soldiers will die and military hardware will be destroyed.

Bombing can destroy forests and farmland
Destruction of dams can lead to flooding of farmland
Unexploded landmines make farmland unusable
Chemical weapons can destroy vegetation. and have more long term environmental affects.
Biological weapons can release lethal toxic agents into the environment.

Judaism views on environmental consequences of war
God commands jews to respect the environment above all human affairs even war. as maybe one day you and your enemy will make peace.
Economic Consequences of war ARMED FORCES
Maintaining Armed services -all governments need to spend money on developing and maintaining armed forces (US spends 3.3%, UK Spends 2%)
because of the massive costs of maintaining armed forces governments may need to divert money away from other essential, services like education and healthcare.
Economic consequences of war - Rehabilitation
Rehabiliation - governments must provide medical support to returning servicemen for physcological as well as physical injuries.
veterans may need retraining for entering the civilian workforce and further expenditure is required to support deceased veterans families.
Economic consequences of war - Reconstruction
Reconstruction involves not only repairing and rebuilding physical infrastructure and tending to environmental damage but establishing or re establishing essential civillian services. at home and overseas.
