What to think about when analyzing a story?

A
  1. Setting (time, place, environment, is it friendly or not?)
  2. Plot (story, in order, flashbacks, realism?)
  3. Narrator (the characters or an omniscient narrator who knows it all?)
  4. Conflict (internal or external?)
  5. Style (how is it written?)
  6. Theme (I. Topic, II. Author’s message about the topic)
