NSQH - Standards

A

Clinical Governance - leaders of health service organisation have responsibility to the community for continuous improvement of the safety and quality of their services, ensure care is patient centred, safe and effective

Partnering with consumers - health literacy, involving patients in their own care, quality improvement, collaboration for improvement

Preventing and controlling infections - training, resources, specific procedures and practises

Medication safety - correct documentation, prescription, dispension of medicines, ensure safety of patients, continuity of medication management

Comprehensive care - meets patient’s individual needs, addresses their overall health and wellbeing, minimises harm

Communicating for safety - timely, purpose driven communication and documentation, correct identification, documentation and hand-over

Recognising and responding to acute deterioration - recognising, appropriate training, appropriate response, prompt action
