Q

Give an example of undercutting?

A

In the Niagara escarpment/falls, the Rochester Shale formation is undercut, causing the Lockport Dolostone formation to break off and cause its retreat; similar processes have produced waterfalls and valleys in Hamilton area (ex: Tiffany Falls)
