What are the main aims of a physiotherapy assessment?
To accurately identify patient problems and degree goals
to develop an appropriate treatment plan
Regularly assessing and reevaluating the effectiveness of the treatment by identifying inpatient problems and patient
What are some patient problems for a cardio respiratory disease?
Coughing, phlegm and mucus
SOB
Unable to get dressed, walk to the shops, do their hobbies

What are we looking for in our observation of an OA
Patients alertness
Responding to pain
Unresponsive
Breathless/distressed/confused (eyes, mouth, face, oedema)

Presence of any lines, drains, evidence of surgery
O2 therapy & how much
Chest
Abdomen
What causes clubbing
Cardiac = congenital heart disease, endocarditis
Lung disease = CF, infections, fibrotic lung disease & malignant lung disease
Bowel disease (crohns & ulcerative colitis)
