What are group tests?
Largely written measures suitable for testing large groups if people at the same time
What are individual tests?
Instruments that by their design must be administered one on one
What is an important advantage of individual tests?
The examiner can gauge the level of motivation of the subject and assess the relevance of other factors (impulsiveness our anxiety)

What are intelligence tests?
A measure of an individuals ability in areas such as verbal comprehension, perceptual organisation or reasoning
What are Aptitude tests?
A measure of an individual’s capability for a relatively specific task or skill
What are Achievement tests?
A measure of a person’s degree of learning, success or accomplishment in a subject or task
What are Creativity tests?
Assessments of novel, original thinking and the capacity to find unusual solutions for vague problems
What are Personality tests?
A measure of an individual’s traits or behaviours that determine a person’s individuality
What are Interest Inventories?
A measure of an individual’s preference for certain activities or topics
What are Behavioural Procedures?
Measures that objectively describe and count frequency of behaviour, identifying the antecedents and consequences of the behaviour
What are neuropsychological tests?
A measure of an individual’s cognitive, sensory, perceptual and motor performance to determine the extent, locus and behavioural consequences of brain damage
