ei and eu are pronounced as in the English word ‘way’.
Examples: eithaf (quite), neu (or)

oe, oi and ou are pronounced as in the English word ‘boy’.
Examples: poeth (hot), rhoi (to give/to put), cyffrous (exciting)

ew is pronounced ‘eh-oo`.
Example: tew (fat)

aw is pronounced like the ‘ou in the English word cloud’
Example: llawn (full)

ow is pronounced as in the English ‘oh’.
Example: brown (brown)

Emphasis in Welsh words is usually Placed on the penultimate syllable.
