It secured the right to vote. But not for everybody.

What was the Chinese Exclusion Act?
It limited Chinese Americans from becoming citizens and being able to vote.
How easy was it to vote in the US? What kind of obstacles were there?
It was very hard. Different states have different ideas about who should be able to vote, (each state had their own way) so we had to jump through a lot of hoops to make it even a little simple, and even now its hard.
What does the 24th Amendment do?
No poll tax!
What does the 19th Amendment do?
It gives women the right to vote. Only white women though.

What is the 14th Amendment?
Citizenship to everybody born or naturalized in the US which included former enslaved people.
What did the 13th Amendment do?
Got rid of slavery- only accepted for certain punishments though.
When was the 19th Amendment ratified?
1920
When is the Indian Citizenship Act passed?
1924
What did the 26 Amendment do?
It lowered the voting age from 21 to 18
