The Playing Arena
A
- Rectangular Court
- 59ft long and 29.5ft wide.
- Net height = 7’11 for men 7’4 for women

Match/Game Stats
A
- Must win 3 of a potential 5 games for match
- Team that wins toss gets to choose to serve/not. Alternate teams serving by game.
- Games are normally played to 25 points, college is 30. Must win by 2 point margin.
- The 5th game if necessary is played to 15 points.

Rally Point Scoring
A
Each rally wins a point in Volleyball.

Prior/After Serve
A
- Prior to serve players must be in original serving rotational order.
- After serve, players may move around wherever.
- Backs cant attack ball in front of attack line.

Ball Contact
A
- Ball can’t rest on hands/arms/body.
- 3 hits per side
- Players can’t hit ball successively.
- Block does not count as contact.
- Can’t touch the net/completely over centerline.

- Begins the game/puts the ball into play.

- Forearm- usually first after a serve, to setter.
- Set- uses two hands to direct ball to teammate.
- Attack- hit with speed/force or lack thereof to get ball over the net for a point.

A
- First line of defense, block ball by net.

- Used when the ball is hit fast/hard.
