Name teaching points for the dig
Keep a wide stance with knees bent and out over toes
Shoulders are forward and relaxed
Arms are bent and out in front of your body
Anticipate and move to the ball

Stand in the ready position with hands above shoulder level, knees slightly bent and toes pointed directly towards the centre line
To execute a block, bend your knees, keeping hands open and in the same position as your shoulders, exploding into the air
Goal should be to get both hands across the plane of the net and then land in a cushioned and controlled manor

Hold the ball in opposite hand to hitting hand and below the waist but above knee
With the ball in left hand, right hand should make a fist with the thumb on top of the folded in fingers
Right fist should make contact with bottom of the ball
Point of contact is the palm side of the right hand, between the folded in fingers and wrist
Bring the right arm back, swing through
Name teaching points for the over arm serve
Start in an up and back stride with most of your weight on your back right foot
Left hand holds the ball, extended and forward and in front of the right side
Shoulder is forward and the right shoulder is back and ready to draw back
Toss the ball in front of your right side, this should be in a lifting motion and not lean forward
Hand should follow through the midline of the ball in the direction of the serve. Body moved in direction of serve
