Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS)
Material Management, Deployment & Distribution, Vehicle Management, and Fuels Management Flights.
LRS Commander
The LRS commander is responsible for directing the Material Management, Deployment & Distribution, Vehicle Management, and Fuels Management Flights. The commander ensures mission readiness, provides strategic planning, and acts as the accountable officer. The commander is the focal point for squadron interaction with base, major command (MAJCOM), Air Force Global Logistics Support Center, Air Force Fuels, Vehicles & Equipment Support Agency and AF leadership.
Operations Officer
The Operations Officer is the next senior officer to the LRS commander and oversees the sophisticated and diverse day-to-day operations within the squadron. The Operations Officer also carries out all Logistics Manager duties when no Logistics Manager is assigned.
Squadron Readiness
Squadron Readiness is responsible for the LRS Unit Control Center (UCC). This section maintains the squadron personnel recall rosters
Unit Deployment Manager
UTC Availability Listing (UAL) and Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) Library, and reported within the AEF Reporting Tool (ART). Air Force Installation Mission Supprt Center (AFIMSC) personnel to correct discrepancies. Additionally, the UDM conducts squadron deployment briefings, is responsible for LRS Status of Resources and Training System (SORTS), Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS), and ART reporting; prepares Situational Report (SITREP) inputs when required; and tracks and manages all deployment training and requirements.
Logistics Manager
(Active duty LRS only) The Logistics Manager is the senior civilian logistician and rounds out the management staff. The Logistics Manager has oversight of the business processes and performance quality/efficiency of the squadron. The Logistics Manager is the point of contact for all LRS civilian personnel issues and directs Operations Compliance (OC). The Logistics Manager may carry out all Operations Officer duties when no Operations Officer is assigned.
Operations Compliance
Operations Compliance is aligned under the Logistics Manager. OC is the commander’s single point of contact for “the health of the squadron”. OC provides oversight of squadron compliance, training, resources, accountability and analysis. OC contains the Compliance and Analysis (LGLOC), Squadron Training (LGLOT), Resource Management (LGLOR), and Functional Systems Management (LGLOS) sections.
Compliance and Analysis
Compliance and Analysis measures the LRS processes through inventory analysis, surveillance, trends and standards, develops and writes local policy/procedures and performs “over the shoulder” inspections augmented by all LRS career fields.
Squadron Training
Key duties include administering the on-the-job training (OJT) program, managing qualification training, overseeing proficiency training (upgrade), managing training records, and maintaining the Weighted Airman Promotion System (WAPS) reference library. Manages career development course (CDC) materials for all assigned personnel.
Resource Management
Resource Management is responsible for all funds management functions. Key duties are to serve as the unit resource advisor (RA), facilities manager, manage the Supply Management Activity Group and financial planning.
Functional Systems Management
Functional Systems Management duties include acting as the liaison for LRS and the Air Force Global Logistics Support Center. They also submit system specific requirements to execute computer rotation plans.
Squadron Superintendent
The duties of the Squadron Superintendent are to coordinate with functional experts, develop enlisted force strategies, maintain a working knowledge of functional manpower requirements, manning levels, and work with respective flight leadership to address staffing concerns. Advises the squadron training manager to ensure the effectiveness of the squadron enlisted on-the-job training programs. Organizations without a Squadron Superintendent, will assign the above duties to the Operations Officer.
First Sergeant
The First Sergeant assists the Squadron Commander with health, morale, welfare, and discipline of assigned personnel. The First Sergeant also administers unit awards programs.
Deployment & Distribution Flight
The Deployment & Distribution Flight is responsible for the centralized command and control, planning, and execution of all wing deployment operations and the distribution of cargo, passengers, and personal property. Air Mobility Command (AMC) Aerial Port Squadron; they are Plans & Integration (LGRDX), Small Air Terminal & Pax Movement (LGRDA), Distribution (LGRDD), and Personal Property (LGRDF).
Plans & Integration
Plans & Integration help provides wing-level management of AEF, UTC, Expeditionary Site Plans, Installation Deployment Plan (IDP), Deployment Training, Deployment Control Center (DCC), Reception Control Center (RCC), and core elements of an Installation Deployment Readiness Cell (IDRC). This element also provides management oversight of the wing’s War Reserve Material (WRM) and Support Agreements programs.
Small Air Terminal & Pax Movement
is made up of two elements; the Passenger Movement Element (LGRDAP) and Small Air Terminal Operations Element (LGRDAS). The Small Air Terminal & Passenger Movement Section manages wing passenger movement functions and provides core transportation expertise to the Installation Deployment Officer (IDO). This section also conducts a wing training program that includes cargo deployment function/personnel deployment function (CDF/PDF) augmentee training, and unit cargo preparation training.
Distribution Section
Distribution Section is made up of two elements: the Ground Transportation Element (LGRDDO) and the Cargo Movement Element (LGRDDC). LGRDD is responsible for transporting cargo and personnel in support of daily and contingency operations. This section is also responsible for the receipt and shipment of Department of Defense (DOD) supplies and equipment.
Distribution Section Chief
Usually, the highest ranking SNCO within LGRDD is assigned to the Distribution Section Chief position. The primary role for the DSC is to provide highly effective leadership and mentorship to accomplish the mission and train personnel to be future leaders.
Personal Property
is made up of inbound, outbound, nontemporary storage, and quality control. LGRDF is responsible for administering the DOD personal property movement program within its respective area of responsibility. Personnel perform inherently governmental warranted contracting officer, agricultural, and customs duties.
Material Management Flight
Material Management Flight is responsible for stocking, storing, issuing, managing, inventorying, and inspecting DOD supplies and equipment. This flight is the primary liaison between customers and the Air Force Global Logistics Support Center. The MMF was previously known as Supply.
Asset Management Section (LGRMS)
Asset Management Section (LGRMS) is made up of five elements: Central Storage, Aircraft Parts Store (APS), Hazardous Material Management (HAZMART), Individual Equipment Element (IEE) and Individual Protective Equipment (IPE). LRGMS is responsible for stocking, storing, issuing, decentralized inventory and inspection management of DOD supplies and equipment to include aircraft parts and hazardous materials (HAZMAT).
Maintenance Support Section (LGRMM)
This section is made up of two elements: Maintenance Support Liaison and Flight Service Center. The Maintenance Support Liaison monitors the overall maintenance and material interface, resolves material support problems, reviews reports and coordinates material management related training needs for decentralized material support personnel. Flight Service Center supports maintenance by providing control of all items requiring repair or replacement.
Customer Support Section
is made up of two elements: Customer Support Liaison and Equipment Accountability. LGRMC serves as the material management liaison and equipment accountability authority for wing customers.
Vehicle Management Flight
is the single authority and source for maintenance and management of the wing’s government motor vehicle fleet and assigns, accounts for, and maintains vehicle assets so they are safe, efficient, and environmentally sound in order to meet the wing’s needs. LGRV is made up of six sections: Customer Service Center (CSC) (LGRVC), Multipurpose Maintenance (LGRVM), Fire Truck Maintenance (LGRVF), Material Handling Equipment Maintenance (LGRVH), Material Control (LGRVMC) and Vehicle Management and Analysis Section (LGRVA).
