Warning dog will attack if provoked

Should you punish a dog for growling?

A

No! Growling is a useful warning sign and is helpful for dogs/humans to know when the dog is upset and may attack

Why is barking the most mysterious type of dog communication?

A

It can mean so many different things, there are “alert” barks, “bored” barks, etc…
So many different tones and sounds
Some dogs just like to hear the sound of their own voice :)

A

Just because the dog is not barking, it does not mean that they are not upset, fearful or anxious. They just now cannot express/tell you how they are feeling
