A story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one.
Allegory
The occurrence of the same letter or sound at the beginning of adjacent or closely connected words.
Alliteration
An expression designed to call something to mind without mentioning it explicitly; an indirect or passing reference.
Allusion
A person who actively opposes or is hostile to someone or something; an adversary.
Antagonist
An idea or feeling that a word invokes for a person in addition to its literal or primary meaning.
Connotation
In poetry, the repetition of the sound of a vowel or diphthong in nonrhyming stressed syllables
