Temperament
Assessments of one’s own characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses

Putting pressure on themselves to adapt to behaviors they think others will find acceptable
Self-Socialization
The ability to consider how people around them are likely to think about, behavior, and react to various situations

Involves paying attention to certain behaviors in a social situation, trying to interpret & make sense of those behaviors

Developmental changes in thinking, reasoning, language
Cognitive Development
Children construct their own beliefs, understandings from their experiences
Constructivist Theory
Mental discomfort that stimulates a child to try to make sense of what they’re observing
Disequilibrium
Process through which social activities evolve into internal mental activities.
Internalization
Term is often used to refer to this process of internalizing but also for adapting the ideas, strategies of one’s culture for one’s own use.
