Beseech
Beseech means to ask or request earnestly. If you’re begging for something but you want to sound formal and a little old fashioned. It captures how urgent and desperate you are, yet perhaps saves a shred of your dignity .
Carnanl
Carnal means of or relating to the body or flesh; marked by appetites of passion of the body. Carnal can be used to refer literally to flesh: after lions are done feasting on a downed zebra, vultures might pickover its carnal remains. Another use for carnal is to describe something that is worldly as opposed to spiritual.
Churlish
Churlish means having a bad disposition; surly; rude and boorish. A churlish person is one whose middle name might as well be rude. He’s the one who was never taught to mind his manners and avoid telling vulgar jokes at the dinner table.
Commingle
Commingle means to mix or blend together like the way different flavors commingle in a stew or people from all over the world commingle in a big city.
Contagion
Contagion means an incident in which an infectious disease is transmitted; it can also be the communication of an attitude or emotional state among a number of people. Contagion is akin to the word contagious.
Contrive
Contrive means to make or work out a plan; devise. When you contrive, you make a plan or a plot. It may take you longer to contrive you way out of doing your homework than would to actually do it. Even though contrive often has a false or cunning feel to it, it is not always a bad thing. Mental effort is always required though, as contrive is often used in connection with inventing schemes and plans to make something happen.
Convocation
Convocation is the act of convoking or calling together; a group gathered in response to a summons. A convocation is a calling together of people- or it can also refer to the group that has gathered in response to the convocation.
Discord
Discord as a noun means lack of agreement or harmony; a strie resulting from a lack of agreement; a discord is a harsh mixture of sounds. Discord is the strife and tension that arises when two sides disagree on something, like the high-pitched screaming of two kids fighting over the front seat of the car.
Discretion
Discretion means the power of making free choices unconstrained by external agencies; freedom to act or judge on one’s own; the trait of judging wisely and objectively; knowing how to avoid embarrassment or distress. If you have the freedom to decide something on your own, your decision is left to you discretion.
Embitter
Embitter means to cause to be bitter or resentful. To embitter to make someone bitter, resentful, or angry. People are embittered by disappointing and unfair experiences. Life is often difficult, painful, and unfair. When bad things happen, they can embitter people.
Epitaph
Epitaph means an inscription on a tombstone or monument of the person buried there.
Felicity
Felicity means a pleasing and appropriate manner or style; a state of well-being characterized by emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. Felicity is the state of happiness or the quality of joy.
Filial
Filial means relating to or characteristics of or befitting an offspring. If you describe something as filial, you’re saying it’s offspring related. Depending on who your parents are, your filial duties might include taking out the trash, washing dishes, or ruling empires.
Imminent
Imminent means close in time; about to occur. Something that is imminent is just about to happen Imminent is from Latin imminere, “to overhang” and say that something is imminent is to say that it is hanging over you and about to fall, in a metaphorical way.
Invulnerable
Invulnerable means immune to attack; impregnable. Something that’s invulnerable is impossible to damage or injure, like the strongest, most rock solid concrete fort reinforced with steel bars.
