What are the Alphanumeric Keys?
Letters, numeric, and symbols
What is the Numeric Keypad?
Keys on the right side of the keyboard used to enter numeric cop and perform calculations
What is the Function (F) Key?
Used to execute commands, sometimes with other keys; commands vary with software
What are the Arrow Keys?
moves cursor/insertion point up, down, left, or right
What is the ESC (escape) button?
closes a software menu or dialogue box, full screen
What is the TAB key?
moves the insertion point to a preset location
What is the CAPS LOCK for?
Used to make all capital letters
What is the Shift button?
makes capital letters and symbols shown at tops of number keys
What is the CTRL (control) button for?
with other keys, executes various commands that vary with software
What is the ALT (alternate) button used for?
with other keys, executes various commands that vary with software
What is the Space Bar?
inserts a space in text
What is the ENTER (return) button used for?
moves insertion point to margin and down to the nest line; also be used to execute commands
What is the Delete button for?
removes text to the right of the insertion point
What is the Number Lock button for?
activates/deactivates numeric keypad
What is the backspace button for?
deletes text to the left of insertion point
