Attorney
In the US, a person admitted by the state’s highest court or by a federal court to practice law in the jurisdiction
Lawyer
A person learned in the law; as an attorney, counsel or solicitor; a person licensed to practice law
Solicitor
In England, a Person who assembled the legal materials necessary for the presentation to the court and settles cases of court
Counselor/Counsel
An attorney; lawyer. Member of the legal profession who gives legal advice and handles the legal affairs of a client, including, if necessary, appearing on his or her behalf in court.
Barrister
In England, an advocate; a counselor learned in the law who has been admitted to plead at the bar, and who is engaged in conducting the trial of argument of causes
Advocate
One who assists, defends, or pleads for another. One who renders legal advice and aid and pleads the cause of another before a court or a tribunal.

Recorder
Part-time judge who holds legal qualification either as a solicitor it barrister or possibly as a legal academic.
Perjury
Intentionally swearing a false oath
Foreman of the jury
Spokesperson for the jury who announces the verdict of the court
Civil law
Jurisdictions that have adopted the European continental system of law derived essentially from ancient Roman law
Common law
Case- and judge-centered system of law allowing scope for a discretionary, ad hoc, pragmatic approach to particular problems.
Equity
Involves discretionary remedies that are awarded at the will of the court and depend on the behavior and situation of the party claiming such remedies.
