What are Rights?
What individuals and groups are allowed to do in society, as established in law
What is Enshrine?
If something such as an idea or a right is enshrined in something such as a constitution or law, it is protected by it.
What is Infringe?
A violation, a breach, or an unauthorized act
What is Patriate?
To bring to a country something that belongs to the country
What is Implement?
The action of putting a law, resolution, order, system, decision or plan etc into operation.
What is the Official language minority?
Either a French-speaker or French-speaking population living outside of Quebec, where English is predominant, or an English-speaker or English-speaking population living in Quebec, where French is predominant.
What is the Labour union?
An organization of workers that acts to protect workers’ rights and interests — see page 231 in your textbook
What is the constitution?
A special set of laws that establish a framework of governance
What is Ethnocentric?
meaning that those from European decent believed they were superior to those of Indian and other non-European cultures.
What is ethnocentrism?
evaluation of other cultures according to preconceptions originating in the standards and customs of one’s own culture.
