Apostasy
An abandoning of what one has believed in, a faith, cause, or principles

Of or having to do with tasting or the sense of taste
Envoy
A postscript to a poem, essay or look, containing a dedication, climactic summary, explanation.
Stream of Consciousness
designating, of, or using a narrative technique whereby the thoughts, precepts etc, are rendered in a direct, free- flowing manner. When using this technique, the reader is allowed inside of the character’s mind to reveal perceptions, thoughts, and feelings on a conscious or unconscious level.
Vehicle
in a metaphor, that word or term whose usual, literal meaning is applied in a figurative, non-literal way to the tenor [in “all the world’s a stage”, “world” is the tenor & “stage” is the vehicle.
Mordacious
biting, sharp, acrid, or caustic.
Meliorate
to make or become better; to improve.

Cynosure
any person or thing that is in a center or attention or interest.
Sestina
an elaborate verse form of Italian origin, normally unrhymed, consisting of six stanzas of six lines each and a concluding tercet. The six final words of the lines in the first stanza are repeated in a different order in each of the remaining five stanzas and also in the concluding tercet.
Implied Metaphor
a subtle comparison; the terms being compared are not specifically explained. For example, to describe a stubborn man unwilling to leave, one could say that he was “a mule standing his ground.” In this example, the man is being compared to a mule.
