Abscess
Localized accumulation of pus
Amputation.
A surgical or traumatic removal of a part of the body such as a limb, finger, or toe
Bedsore, decubitus ulcer, pressure sore
An area over a bony prominence such as tailbone, hip, ankle or elbow which becomes inflamed and necrotic and results in sloughing of the area due to prolonged pressure
Blister
A small skin lesion containing serous fluid
Boil
An infection in a hair follicle containing pus
Bruise
Blue/black discolouration of the skin due to an injury allowing blood to escape into the tissue but the skin is not broken
Cellulitis
Inflammation of soft tissue under the skin: marked by swelling, redness, and pain caused by a bacterial infection.
Contusion
An injury to the body without breaking the skin
Abrasion
Scraping or rubbing away of the skin
Cryosurgery
Treatment using cold temperatures using liquid nitrogen
Cyst
A sac containing fluid, or solid material
Debridement
Removal of diseased tissue from the skin
Dermatitis
Inflammation of the skin
Fissure
A crack in the skin
Gangrene
Death of tissue usually the extremities
