What are minerals?
Number 5 in nutrients. Some examples are sodium, iron, calcium etc…
What is a vitamin?
One of the six nutrients, it regulates the body function (ex. Vitamin A,B,C,D,E,K etc…)
What are carbohydrates?
The number one energy source.

Hydrate (H2O) = CH2O
What is cellulose?
FIBER!!!

What is amylose?
STARCH!!
It’s a polysaccharide meaning long lasting energy
What are lipids?
They store energy and maintains homeostasis. Contains fats either good or bad such as saturated or unsaturated.
What are Amino Acids?
It’s apart of the protein, you’re body can provide 12 however 8 are through diet.
What is protein?
It builds structure in the body and also makes enzymes their subunit are AA
What is saturated fat?
Saturated fat is a solid fat stored at room temperature such a Lard or butter.
What is unsaturated fat?
Unsaturated fat are liquids stored at room temperature such as oils.
What is a macro molecule? (BIG MAC)
A big molecule
What is HDL?
A steroid that clears out the arteries.
What is LDL?
A steroid that clogs the arteries.
What is a polysaccharide?
Long lasting energy.
What does organic mean?
Comes from an organ
