1 numbers that cannot be made into simple fraction ;they have decimals that keeps going and going . 2.non-terminating. 3.non-repeating. examples : pi , 5.8826261772…..

is a number that can be multiplied by itself to give the original number . For example a square root of 9 is 3 because when 3 is multiplied by itself we get 9 .
Base
the number being raised to an exponent (or power )
Exponents
the number of times a base is to be used in a multiplication , also called power .
Squaring a number
multiplying a number by itself , raising a number to the second power .
Cubing a number
multiplying a number by itself 3 times ; raising a number to the third power .
