Air mass a large body of air that has about the same temperature and humidity throughout
Air mass
The boundary where 2 air masses meet. Weather changes at fronts
Front
The leading edge of a moving mass of cooler air. It may bring thunderstorms, followed by cool and clearing weather
Cold front
The leading edge of a moving mass of warmer air
Warm front
The boundary of a cold and warm air mass, neither of them have the power to move the other. (Both fronts get stuck)
Stationary front
When the warm air mass is
caught between 2 cold air masses.
Occluded front
The large “H” means an area of high pressure, High pressure usually means nice, clear weather
High Pressure
A large “L” means an area of low pressure, Low pressure usually means cloud, rain or snow
Low pressure
