A part of food that gives energy to living things.
Symbiosis
A relationship between two living organisms

A living things that relies on other living things for food.
Carnivore
An organism that only eats other animals
Herbivore
An organism that only eats plants
Omnivore
A living thing that eats both plants and animals
Producer
A living thing that can produce it’s own food (plant)
Photosynthesis
Carbon dioxide + sunlight + water = foods and starches + oxygen
Carbon cycle
The circulation of recycling of carbon in nature.
Cellular respiration
Foods and starches + oxygen = water + generic energy + carbon dioxide
Scavengers
Living things that feed off remains of dead carcasses.
Decomposer
A living thing hat breaks down dead animals and plants and waste.
Food chain
A pathway of energy that goes from one organism to another.
Food web
A link up of all possible food chains in one ecosystem.
Cycle
The circulation of matter in nature
Water cycle
The circulation of water from the surface of Earth to the atmosphere and back again.
Extinct
A species that no longer exists on Earth.
Endangered
A species that is at risk of being extinct and rare.
Threatened
A species whose numbers are declining.
Ecological footprint
A measurement of materials a person uses everyday.
