An ancient copy of a document
Religious Pluralism
The belief that all religions are the same in the end and all lead to the same god
Total depravity
The belief that sin has completely corrupted and ruined our human nature
Ecumenical
Involving multiple different religions
Meta-narrative
A big story that seeks to answer life’s ultimate questions of purpose
Steward
One who takes care of things or resources of another person
Transcendentalism
Believing that spiritual truth is found through personal intuition, and not the doctrines of a church or religion
Allegorical interpretation
A method of interpreting the Bible that spiritualizes the text in an effort to uncover a supposedly hidden meaning
Inspiration
God communicating the text of scripture to the biblical writers so that it contains his words, not theirs
Sufficiency of Scripture
Scripture contains all the information a person needs to live a life of godliness and relationship with God
Council of Nicea
Church council in A.D. 325 where the canon of scripture was first recognized in its plenary form

Basic statement of Christian belief authored in A.D. 710
Pantheism
The belief that god is in and a part of everything
Fiat creationism
The belief in a literal, six day creation of the cosmos by God, as recorded in Genesis
Theistic evolution
The belief that God used the long process of evolutionary ages to create the cosmos
