vocabs 3 Flashcards
.
We use 분실하다 when we lose physical objects… which we can find at lost&found. 분실하다 is more like literary style so we commonly use 잃어버리다 instead.
and when someone loses memory or mind, we use 상실하다.
i.g. 개념을 상실했니? : Have you lost your mind?
기억을 상실하다: lose memory
But when you just forget something, ‘잊어버리다’ will do.. since 기억을 상실하다 usually means blackout or amnesia.
You can use 잃다 when you lose someone.. It can replace 상실하다 as well.
normally used in the very moment you forget something.
깜빡하다
If we are packing our bags to go on holiday, and just as you close the bag you realise that you forgot your socks you might say “깜빡했네!”.
this is used when generally forgetting things
까먹었다 (잊다 more formal version)
For example, If I told my friend that I’m a vegetarian but a few days later he says “lets eat chicken” after I correct him he might say “까먹었어요”.
