Dearth
Lack or absence of something.

To drive away something (can also be a belief system or a myth)
The director of the disease center gave a press conference to dispel the myths about the Ebola virus.
Doctrine
Principles or rules that create a belief system
The government was founded on a doctrine of equality for all people.
Dogma
Something considered an established opinion (can be a belief or a set of moral codes)
His dogma prevented him from considering any other viewpoints.
