Rhetoric
in speech or writing, the art of using the available means of persuasion
Allusion
References famous person, place, event or literary work
- Can be direct or implied
Anadiplosis
Repetition of a prominent and usually the last word in one phrase or clause at the beginning of the next
Ex. “Papa’s gonna buy you a mockingbird/ And if that mockingbird won’t sing”
Antimetabole
A Figure Of Speech in which a phrase is repeated, but with the order of words reversed.
Ex. “Think and Wonder, wonder and think”
Antithesis
Opposition or contrast of ideas or words in a balanced or parallel construction
Ex. Small step - Giant Leap
Anecdote
Short amusing story about a real incident
Asyndeton
The ommision or absence of a conjunction between parts of a sentence
Conjunction = FANBOYS
Ex: “Reduce, reuse, recycle” instead if “reduce and reuse and recycle”
Call To Action
Where you clearly tell the audience a role they can play
ex. “This is your time, now go get it”
Climax
Words, Phrases, Clauses are arranged in order of increasing importance
“It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s superman”
Euphemism
Mild or indirect word or expression substituted for one to be considered to harsh or blunt when reffering to something unpleasant or blunt.

Fragment
Rhetorical fragment is using a sentence fragment(a place that is missing either its subject or its main verb) intentionally in writing for emphasis.
Inversion
The reversal of the normal order of words and phrases in a sentence

The fact of 2 things being seen or placed close together contrasting effect
