Energy pyramid
A model that shows the available amount of energy in each tropic layer in the ecosystem.
Food web
A system of interlocking and interdependent food chains.
Decomposer
An organism, especially a soul lacterium, fungus or invertebrate that decomposes organic material
Food chain
A heirarchical series of organisms each dependent on the next as a source of food.
Coniferous
Mostly evergreen trees and shrubs having usually needle shaped of scale like leaves
Consumer
A person who purchases goods and services for personal use.
Biome
A large naturally occurring of flora and fauna occupying a major habitat.
Deciduous
A tree or shrub shredding its leaves annually
Ecology
The branch of biology that deals with the relations of organisms to one another and to their physical surroundings
Cycle
A series of events that are regularly repeated in the same order
Nitrogen cycle
The series of process by which nitrogen and its compounds are inter converted in the enviroment and in living organisms including nitrogen fixation and decomposition
Biotic factors
A living component that affects the population of another organism
Water cycle
The cycle of processes by which water circulates between the earths oceans.
Abiotic factor
A non living condition or thing as climate or habitat
Producer
A person company or country that makes gross or supplies goods or commodities for sale.
