Physical change
A change to a sample of matter in which some properties of the
Chemical change
Change that produces matter with a different composition.
Physical property
The characteristic of a substance that can be observed or measured without changing the identity of the substance. pi bond.
Chemical property
Describes the ability of a substance to undergo a specific chemical change.
Extensive property
Property that depends on the amount of matter in a sample.
Intensive property
A property of matter that depends only on the type of matter in a sample and not on the amount.
Heterogeneous mixture
A mixture in which the composition is not uniform throughout the mixture.
homogeneous mixture
A mixture in which the composition is uniform throughout the mixture.
Unit conversion factor
a number used to change one set of units to another, by multiplying or dividing
Dimensional analysis
analysis using the fact that physical quantities added to or equated with each other must be expressed in terms of the same fundamental quantities (such as mass, length, or time) for inferences to be made about the relations between them.
Substance (pure substance)
a single kind of matter that cannot be separated into other kinds of matter by any physical means.
Accuracy
the quality or state of being correct or precise.
Precision
the quality, condition, or fact of being exact and accurate.
Mixture
a material made up of two or more different chemical substances which are not chemically bonded
Compound
substance composed of identical molecules consisting of atoms of two or more chemical elements.
