IMPROVE
move dominant hand up your non dominant arm starting at wrist (NMS!!)

DECLINE
OPPOSITE movement of IMPROVE

TO TAKE ADVANTAGE/GRAB OPPORTUNITIES
grab with dominant hand (almost like milking a cow motion) then immediately bump non dominant flat hand (palm facing up) with bottom side of fist
EXPLOIT (negative connotation)
flat hands/fingers spread apart. Using dominant middle finger scrape your non dominant palm a few times
CHAT
both hands at chest level/elbows comfortably bent and shake both hands at least twice

WARNING
non dominant hand in fist/ palm part facing floor. with dominant pointer finger/ tap top of fist/ (like shame on you)

MEAN/MEANING
“2” with dominant hand 1st palm up then palm down while tips of fingers are touching the flat part of you other palm. Palm(of non dominant)faces to the right or left depending on dominant hand

a person is MEAN
both fists brush together in passing. dominant hand starts closest to you and other furthest away then meet in the middle like brushing knuckles

EXPLAIN
“OK” wiggle downward from chest

CLEAR/BRIGHT
put tips of fingers together (“o-shapes”) in front of chest then open hands going away from each other, palms facing outward with fingers spread

wave hand in front of face
VAGUE
side of body to the left the right hand rub left flat hands (not sure if this picture is correct)

right cupped, tips of fingers scrape flat left palm

DOOR (open/close)
flat hands, palms facing out in front of chest, dominant hand moves toward face (open) hands toughing (closed)

flat palms facing you (same as door) but stack hands instead of side by side

both hands up towards head, open and close them while tips of fingers face the ground OR flick the side of chin

ALL (dominant hand related) dominant hand acts as the action word with pointer finger and middle finger being your legs and your flat non dominant hand with palms facing up acts as the floor or chair

STUDY (NMS!!)
non dominant hand acts as the material you’re studying with flat palm facing you and dominant hand “sprinkles” with your fingers pointing at your non dominant hand
PARTY
for little kids “P” both hands and rock back and forth at waist side. for adults “Y” both hands thumbs pointing to your shoulders and move front and back
“I” WALK
both hands act as your feet. move them both down by your waist in walking motion
“he or she” WALK
pointer and middle fingers act as their feet, same movement
TEST (2)
both pointer fingers (palms facing away from face) while rest of hands in a fist. place on each side of face, slide fingers down while moving hands down the side of face (don’t touch face just use face as placement) OR do same as stated then flatten out hands moving away from chest, palms facing floor
ASK
(directional) starts with index finger and then turns into “x” as you point to the person you are asking.

QUESTION
trace a question mark in the air in front of you using your ASL space
WILL/FUTURE (use at the end of your statement when using ASL)
dominant flat hand, palms facing cheek, fingers point up by head then move forward bending at wrist and elbow

TRY
“a” both hands elbows bent so fists are a little below chest level and palms are towards your body. move downward motion while flicking wrists away from body so palms end up facing away from you

use both fists, flat part meet in front of you so palms are facing each other

same as “with” but movement is in a circular motion thumbs pointing up
