Natural Fibers
From plant and animal sources, are produced by nature
Manufactured Fibers
Made from substances such as wood pulp, petroleum, and coal, are produced in labs through chemical processes
Cotton
a soft white fibrous substance that surrounds the seeds of a tropical and subtropical plant and is used as textile fiber and thread for sewing.
Linen
is laborious to manufacture, but the fiber is very absorbent and garments made of linen are valued for their exceptional coolness and freshness in hot weather.
Ramie
Ramie fiber is known especially for its ability to hold shape, reduce wrinkling, and introduce a silky lustre to the fabric appearance. It is not as durable as other fibers, and so is usually used as a blend with other fibers such as cotton or wool.
Wool
Wool is the textile fiber obtained from sheep and certain other animals, including cashmere from goats, mohair from goats, qiviut from muskoxen, angora from rabbits, and other types of wool from camelids.

Spun by silkworm, silk is the strongest of the natural fabrics

With its high luster and slick surface, acetate is commonly used formed evening wear and a linen fabric

Known for warmth without weight, acrylic fabric can be woven or knitted

Noted for its strength and durability, nylons ability to repel waters makes it useful for clothing and various commercial uses

One of the most popular manufactured fibers, polyester is used alone or blended with other fibers.
