Population
Statistical study, Total number of a group
Sample
subset of population
Mean
total units added together, divided by the total amount of units
Median
Middle value in the sorted data set, or halfway between the two middle values.
Mode
Most common value in a distribution
interquartile range
after finding the median, its the lower iq range is the number between the lowest number and the median.
Frequency Table
The first column lists the categories of data, the second column is the number of data values in the category
Histogram
Bar graph for quantitative data categories, the bars have a natural order and the bar widths have more specific meaning,
Pie Chart
The frequency multiplied by 360
Variance
Take each unit, square them, add them together then divide by the amount of units.
Range
Difference between greatest and least values.
Outliers
In a data set, an outlier is the value that is much higher or much lower than the best.
Standard Deviation
Measure of how spread out numbers are.
