Value in color
When describing a hue, the term value
refers to that hue’s lightness or darkness.
Value changes are often obtained by adding black or white to a particular hue.

Shape
element of art that refers to a wo-dimensional area clearly set off by one or more of the other visual elements, such as color, value, line, texture, and space. Shapes are flat.

The quality of being made up of exactly similar parts facing each other or around an axis.

A drawing pencil that features a thick core of graphite formulated to be very black and smooth
Emotionalism
a style of painting which is expressionist with the goal of illicting humanitarinism and social responsibility from the viewer
Formalism
In art theory, formalism is the concept that a work’s artistic value is entirely determined by its form—the way it is made, its purely visual aspects, and its medium.
