A thin covering made up of cells that protect the root tip of a plant that grows into the soil.
root cap

The release of energy in plants and animals from food.

What a living thing does as a result of a stimulus.
response
Something in the environment that cause a living thing to react.
stimulus
A response of a plant towards or away from stimulus.
tropism
A characteristic that enables a living thing to survive in its environment.
adaptation
hydrotropism
A tropism that has water as its stimulus, so it tilts to water.
