Bump
a one time payment for additional services or items, could be because an extra is asked to have their vehicle used, etc.
Adjustment
when your pay is increased above your base payment rate.
Residual
the fee paid to the Talent for rebroadcast of a commercial, film, or TV program.
Scale
minimum payment for services under the Union contract.
Voucher
This is how you will get paid. It’s a receipt and time-card all in one. You need to hold onto this until you get paid.
Action
This is the cue for the Talent to start performing.
Crossing
phrase used to inform the camera operator when you walk in front of the lens. (don’t need to say this when you are walking on set to be blocked, stand-in or begin shooting.)
Cut
the cue for everyone to stop, Cast and Crew.
It’s a wrap
the filming is done for the day.
Last looks
phrase to call in hair/makeup to give a final touch-up.
Picture’s up
phrase to alert all on set that cameras are almost set to start rolling.
Points
this is yelled out when large items are being moved through the set, steer clear of the path.
Rolling
the camera is recording and everyone should be ready to go.
Sound speed
the sound is recording and the scene is rolling. Everything you say (including a whisper) will be caught on tape.
Crafty
Also known as Craft Services. Snack food and meals are available here.
Holding
if you are background Talent, this is where you will spend most of the day waiting. You check-in here, get your voucher, see wardrobe, hair, and make-up.
Honeywagon

Set
where the film is being recorded, usually on a soundstage.
Video Village
the area in which viewing monitors are placed for the Director and other production personnel.
AD (Assistant Director)
The AD will call out actions/directions for the director, also giving instructions to the camera team and the extras. They also keep track of time on the set. There is a 1st and 2nd AD.
Background
The extra’s version of “action.” The cue to start moving.
